Newark, Del. – (September 4, 2021) – The Fordham volleyball team closed out its stay at the Delaware Invitational on Saturday afternoon with a win, sweeping the NJIT Highlanders in three sets. Set scores were 25-22, 25-18, and 25-9.
Fordham (2-4) improved its attack in each of the three sets against NJIT, improving from .158 in the first set to .450 in the third set. The Rams also improved throughout the match on defense, as NJIT was held to an overall attack percentage of .065, which included a -.160 in the third set.
Highlighting the match for the Rams,
Whitley Moody posted a double-double with 16 kills, 12 digs, and two blocks, while Bella Ureña added 10 kills, five digs, and three service aces.
Aria De La Rosa chipped in eight kills and three blocks with
Megan Brzozowski dishing out 36 assists to go with three aces and five digs.
Following the final match, Moody and
Mallory Lipski were both selected to the All-Invitational Team.
Fordham will next be in action at the Kaiser Classic, September 10-11, hosted by St. John's.
