Mallory Lipski has picked up her first career accolade after being named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. She is just the seventh Ram to receive the honor.

Lipski led the Rams defense with 5.88 digs over eight frames this weekend while Fordham went 1-1 to finish runner-up in the 18
th Rose Hill Classic. In a three-set sweep of St. Francis Brooklyn, Lipski notched 16 digs, six assists, and an ace, then produced the first 30-dig effort of her career over five sets against Providence on Saturday, adding five assists and two more aces.
The Louisville native is third in the league with 192 digs and 4.47 per set. Lipski is just eight digs away from 500 for her career, while her career rate of 2.91 per set already ranks seventh all-time. Her 5.31 digs per set as a sophomore was the second-highest number in a single season in program history and her current clip would sit third.
Fordham begins conference play this weekend at VCU and Davidson, taking on the former on Friday at 5 p.m.
