Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham volleyball team (0-1) is back in action after more than a month off and will begin Atlantic 10 action this weekend at George Washington (1-7, 0-5) and George Mason (3-6, 3-1)

Despite the result, the Rams showed plenty of promise in the season-opening four-set loss to reigning Big East champions St. John's in early February – freshman
Isabel Fichtel set a program four-set record with 12 total blocks, one shy of the overall record, while her teammates joined her for a block party that resulted in 20.0 total blocks team-wide, just 2.0 shy of the single-match record. The Rams took set one, 25-20, and made things interesting in the fourth before falling late, 26-24. Fellow freshman
Whitley Moody also impressed in her collegiate debut with a team-high 14 kills, hitting .250, with eight digs and five blocks. Sophomore
Megan Brzozowski fell just two blocks shy of a triple-double, while senior
McKenna Lahr, pressed into libero duties due to injuries, racked up 20 digs.
Series History vs. George Washington
The Colonials hold a 33-12 all-time advantage over the Rams since 1995, although Fordham has had more success recently, winning five of the past six contests since 2016, including last year's five-set road win during the final weekend of the season. The Rams have now won three straight in our nation's capital.
Series History vs. George Mason
Fordham's five set victory in 2019's regular season finale tipped the all-time series back in its favor, 6-5, since the Patriots joined the Atlantic 10 in 2013. Fordham has now won three of the last four meetings and is 2-4 in Fairfax.
