Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham volleyball team picked up its fourth straight Atlantic 10 on Wednesday with its first sweep of the new campaign, dropping Rhode Island in straight sets inside the Rose Hill Gym. With the win, the Rams improve to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in league play, while Rhody falls to 3-7 and 2-3, respectively.

In all three sets, the two schools traded points for several points before Fordham took the lead and ran with it, breezing to a 25-20, 25-19, 25-23, sweep. Two-time reigning Rookie of the Week
Whitley Moody again led the offense but enjoyed her most efficient match of her young career – hitting .417 on 36 attacks, racking up a match-high 17 kills.  Reigning Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Isabel Fichtel kept up her two block per set average, tallying seven on the day, while
Megan Brzozowski recorded a 27-assist, 10-dig double-double with four block assists and two aces. Â

Mallory Lipski led the way with 16 digs plus three assists and an ace, while
McKenna Lahr chipped in eight kills and nine digs and
Joey Landeros added five kills and six digs.
Chloe Pejouan came off the bench for three blocks, one solo. The team hit a season-best .245 and made it four matches in five with double-digit blocks.

It was the first match of the season that didn't last four frames. Fordham will now head to La Salle this weekend for matches on Friday and Saturday at 5 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
