Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham women's basketball, George Washington, and the Atlantic 10 have announced a nonconference match-up between the Rams and Colonials for next Thursday, March 4, in Washington, D.C. Tip-off from the Smith Center is set for 5 p.m. with ESPN+ carry live coverage.
Owners of five straight league victories, including its most recent at home against Saint Joseph's on February 12, Fordham had to pause all team activities due to a campus-wide pause due to New York state's COVID-19 protocols. The Rams' five remaining conference contests were all postponed as a result. Fordham is currently tied for second place in the Atlantic 10 standings with an 8-2 in-conference record, 11-3 overall.
This will be the first time the two schools have ever met in nonconference action. Earlier this year, Fordham defeated George Washington, 53-47, at home on January 3.
The 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship has been moved back a week and will begin on Wednesday, March 10, at VCU's Siegel Center over four days of competition. The Rams will likely begin play in the quarterfinals on the Friday the 12
th.
