Bronx, N.Y. – (October 9, 2021) – The Fordham men's soccer team posted back-to-back victories for the first time this season, as after beating Davidson on Wednesday, the Rams downed the George Mason Patriots, 2-1, at Jack Coffey Field on Saturday night.
With the win, Fordham has won three of its last four contests to improve to 5-7-1 overall, 3-2 in the Atlantic 10, while George Mason fell to 2-9-1 on the year, 0-4 in the league.
The Rams took advantage of set piece opportunities against the Patriots, the first of which came in the 31
st minute.
Max Rogers placed a free kick into the center of the box, where
Jacob Bohm headed home his first goal of the season from eight yards out for the 1-0 lead.
Then in the second half, it was another set piece that gave Fordham a 2-0 lead in the 55
th minute. Rogers again started the play off, this time on a corner kick, that found the head of
Sebastian Fabrin for his first goal of the season.

The Rams' defense did not allow much for George Mason, as the Patriots had just two shots on goal and eight shots overall. The Patriots did convert on one of those chances, as Balint Kocso scored his third of the season of assists from Jose Alvarado and Linus Dahl in the 70
th minute.
However, George Mason would get no closer as they did not have a shot on goal for the rest of the contest.
After the cancellation of the team's match with Hofstra, the Rams will next be in action on Saturday, October 16
th, as they head to Rhode Island for a 7:00 PM match.
