St. Louis, Mo. – The Fordham volleyball team fell in straight sets at Saint Louis on Saturday evening, 15-25, 20-25, 15-25. The Rams fall to 3-11 overall and 0-3 in Atlantic 10 play.
The Billikens took advantage of 18 Fordham errors in attack while generating a whopping 12 aces and nine blocks to see out the match. The Rams tied the first two sets midway but the hosts were able to cobble together a run to create distance and controlled tempo in the third frame throughout.
Whitley Moody led the Rams offense with 10 kills, adding four digs and a block, with
Aria De La Rosa (5),
Bella Ureña (4),
Isabel Fichtel (4), and
Joey Landeros (3) behind her. De La Rosa led the defense at the net with three blocks.
Mallory Lipski racked up 17 digs and an ace, one of two for Fordham along with freshman
Ryan Naumann, making her second start, who also tallied seven digs.
Megan Brzozowski set up 22 points to go with five digs and two blocks.
Fordham returns home next weekend to host George Washington and George Mason on Friday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m., respectively.
