Philadelphia, Pa. – Fordham head coach
Jeff Neubauer, a La Salle graduate, is partial to the three-point shot. But tonight it was his alma mater that took advantage of the long distance shots, connecting on 16 three-pointers to defeat the Rams, 89-52, in an Atlantic 10 game in Tom Gola Arena.
With the loss, Fordham falls to 0-2 overall on the year, 0-2 in the Atlantic 10, while La Salle evens its overall record at 5-5 and goes to 2-1 in the conference.
Sophomore forward
Joel Soriano led the Rams with his second straight double-double, scoring a career-high 16 points and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds, while junior
Onyi Eyisi added nine points for Fordham.
The Explorers got off to a fast start and never looked back, building a 21-4 lead over the first 7:22.
