Men’s Basketball Drops Regular Season Finale

Erten Gazi leads Rams with career-high 22 points

Bronx, N.Y. – It was Senior Day for the Fordham men's basketball team today in the Rose Hill Gym. Erten Gazi and Antwon Portley, the two Ram seniors, did all they could to go out on top, combining for 33 points but it wasn't enough as Fordham fell to George Mason, 65-61, in an Atlantic 10 contest on Saturday.
 
With the loss, Fordham closes out the regular season with an 8-22 overall record, 2-16 in the Atlantic 10, while George Mason goes to 16-15 overall, 5-13 in the conference.
 
Gazi saved his best for last, scoring a career-high 22 points, hitting four three-pointers, while Portley finished with eleven points.
 
The game was tied at 57 with 5:02 left following a pair of Portley free throws but the Patriots outscored the Rams 8-4 over the final five minutes.

Jalen Cobb led Fordham with four assists, the eleventh time this year he has led the Rams in assists.
