Kaitlyn Downey was the league's first to begin the year and the league announced Monday afternoon that sophomore
Anna DeWolfe has earned her first career Player of the Week honor just as Downey had done.
The sophomore captain was fantastic in Friday's 14-point win over Hofstra, scoring a career-high 34 points, the seventh-most in a single game in program history. She did so on an uber-efficient 11-of-15 shooting from the floor, 4-of-6 from behind the arc, and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line. As of Monday morning, she was sixth in all of Division I and tops in the league with 26.7 points per game.
The Cumberland, Maine native is also inside the top-100 in several other categories, notably her 53.8% overall field goal percentage and 56.3% three-point rate, the former ranking 86
th and the latter 21
st. She also shares the team lead with three steals and is second with nine assists.
