2019 Patriot League Football Academic Honor Roll
 
Bronx, N.Y. – The Patriot League has announced its 2019 Football Academic Honor Roll with the seven-member programs combining to recognize 225 student-athletes for their excellence in the classroom during the fall semester.
 
To be eligible for the Fall Academic Honor Roll a student-athlete must earn a 3.20-grade point average (GPA) in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports, including men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball.
 
Bucknell placed a League-high 41 student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll while Fordham had 36 honorees and Georgetown had 35 student-athletes recognized. Lafayette (31), Holy Cross (30), Colgate (26) and Lehigh (26) all contributed to the second-highest total of academic honor roll selections in Patriot League football history.
               
Twelve of the 14 members of the Academic All-Patriot League Football squad made the honor roll including three-time Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, 2019 Patriot League Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year and 2019 STATS FCS Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete of the Year Alex Pechin (Bucknell, Sr., P). Bucknell junior linebacker Rick Mottram, Fordham junior linebacker Glenn Cunningham, sophomore linebacker Ryan Greenhagen and junior offensive lineman Nick Zakelj, Georgetown senior quarterback Gunther Johnson and junior defensive back Ahmad Wilson, Holy Cross sophomore running back Peter Oliver, Lafayette senior defensive lineman Ryan Barnett, junior linebacker Major Jordan and junior placekicker Jeffrey Kordenbrock and Lehigh junior linebacker Pete Haffner all made the academic honor roll after being named to the Academic All-Patriot League team in November.
 
Holy Cross senior running back Domenic Cozier, the 2019 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, highlighted a group of 29 student-athletes to earn a place on the Patriot League Football First- or Second-Team and the academic honor roll.
