Annapolis, Md. – The Fordham water polo squad closed out playa the 2019 Navy Invitational on Sunday with wins over La Salle University and Austin College on Sunday. The Rams defeated La Salle, 15-6, and Austin, 21-4.

Jake Miller-Tolt led the way for Fordham, scoring ten times in the two games, while
Phillip Wang had seven, and
Tristen Knoflick and
George Maltby each scored four times.

In the La Salle match, the Rams jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first quarter behind tallies from Miller-Tolt, Knoflick, and
Oscar Nomura, and built the lead to five, 7-2, following a Nomura goal midway through the second.

The Explorers pulled within two at the half, 7-5, but the Rams scored the first four goals of the second half, two of those from Wang, to take a commanding 11-5 lead with 2:43 left in the third.

Fordham put the game away with three unanswered goals in the final quarter.

Bailey O'Mara made five saves in net for the Rams and also had a pair of steals and
Dimitris Koukias notched four ejections drawn in the match.

The second game of the day was all Fordham as the Rams took a 7-2 lead over the first eight minutes behind goals from three goals from Miller-Tolt and two from Wang.

The Rams then outscored the Kangaroos 5-1 in the second quarter, two of those tallies from Miller-Tolt, to take a 12-3 lead at the break.

The third quarter was all Fordham who netted six unanswered goals, two each from
Quinn Wagner and
Sam Wheeler, as the Rams took a commanding 18-3 lead.

O'Mara made eight saves for Fordham while Aldo Ordoñez, who played the final 1.5 quarters, made three.
Jason Hiremath had a team-high five steals while
Sebastian Zapatero had four.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, September 14, as they compete in the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J. Fordham opens with a match against Santa Clara on the 14th at 7:15 p.m.
