Baseball’s NCAA Run Ends with Loss to Texas A&M

Morgantown, W. Va. – (June 1, 2019) – Texas A&M's brother combo of Hunter and Ty Coleman combined for three home runs and seven RBI, while pitcher Asa Lacy allowed one run over seven innings, as the Aggies eliminated the Fordham Rams from the Morgantown Regional by an 11-2 score at Monongalia County Ballpark.
 
With the loss, Fordham ends a superb season with a 38-24 record, setting the modern day program record for wins and capturing the team's second Atlantic 10 Championship.
 
Texas A&M came out swinging right out of the gate, putting five runs the board in the top of the first inning.  First, Bryce Blaum hit a solo home run that just cleared the left field wall, his eighth of the season, which was later followed by an RBI-single by Logan Foster.  The scoring was capped by a three-run home run from Hunter Coleman, his fourth of the year.

 
The Aggies used the long ball to extend their lead in the top of the fourth inning, when Ty Coleman connected on a two-run home run to left, his fifth of the year, making it 7-0.
 
Zach DeLoach made it 8-0 in the sixth, knocking in Hunter Coleman with an RBI-single for the Aggies.
 
The Rams cracked the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Alvin Melendez was hit by a pitch with two outs, and came around to score on a double down the left field line by Matt Tarabek.
 
The Aggies added two more runs in the top of the seventh on a Hunter Coleman's second home run of the game, a two-run shot to left, and one in the eighth to go up 11-1.
 
Fordham's final run came in the ninth inning, as the Rams loaded the bases on walks to Casey Brown, Justin Machado, and Nico Doria.  Jack Harnisch followed with a pinch-hit single through the right side to score Brown.
 
Anthony DiMeglio (6-4) took the loss in the final start of his career.  He went 4.2 innings, allowing seven runs.  Kyle Martin (1.1 IP, 1 R), Brian Weissert (1 IP, 2 R), Gabe Karslo (1 IP, 1 R), and Cory Wall (1 IP) finished out the pitching duties for Fordham.  Offensively, Tarabek was 1-for-2 with an RBI-double with Harnisch going 1-for-1 with an RBI-single.   Bardwell and Andy Semo were each 1-for-3.
