Bronx, N.Y. - A schedule that features five home games on Jack Coffey Field and a road game at Ball State University highlight the 12-game 2019 Fordham University football schedule released today.

The 2019 season, Fordham's 119th of varsity football, will be the second for head coach Joe Conlin, who arrived at Fordham in 2018 after serving as the associate head coach/offensive coordinator at Yale for the previous four years where he led the Bulldogs to the 2017 Ivy League title.

The Rams open the season on Saturday, August 31, as they host Central Connecticut State University on Jack Coffey Field at 6:00 p.m. It will be the third meeting between the Rams and the Blue Devils who have split the first two meetings over the past two years.

The Rams then travel to Muncie, Indiana, to face the alma mater of former late night television host David Letterman, Ball State University from the Mid-American Conference on September 7. It will be the Rams' first meeting with the Cardinals and the eighth straight year that Fordham has played an NCAA FBS opponent. It will be Fordham's fifth meeting with a team currently in the MAC but the other four games occurred before the respective teams joined the MAC (Akron in 1925, and Buffalo in 1930, 1993 and 1995).

On September 14 the Rams take to the road, venturing up Route 95 to Smithfield, R.I., to take on Bryant University from the Northeast Conference. It will be the fifth meeting between the Rams and the Bulldogs.

The following week, September 21, the Rams travel out to Long Island to square off with Stony Brook University, a member of the CAA for football. The Rams and Seawolves have met three times in the past with the first two games coming when both schools played at the NCAA Div. II level in the 1980's.

The Rams return to Jack Coffey Field the following Saturday, September 28, to host the University of Richmond for Family Weekend. It will be the second meeting between the Rams and the Spiders, who are a member of the CAA in football, on the gridiron.

Fordham opens the month of October with a visit to New Haven, Conn., to face Yale University on October 5 for the tenth time, the first since 2017 when Conlin was serving as the Bulldogs' offensive coordinator.

The Rams begin Patriot League play on October 12 with a trip to the nation's capital for a match up with Georgetown University. It will be the 62nd meeting between the Rams and the Hoyas with Fordham, who has won six of the past seven matchups, leading the all-time series, 37-21-3.

The Lehigh University Mountain Hawks come to the Bronx the following week, October 19, for a league game on Jack Coffey Field. The Rams have won five of the past six meetings with the Mountain Hawks, including a 43-14 win in Bethlehem last fall.

Following a bye week, Fordham returns to Patriot League play as the Rams travel to Easton, Pa., to face Lafayette College on Saturday, November 2. Fordham has won four of the past seven meetings with the Leopards.

Fordham then closes out the road portion of its schedule as the Rams venture to Hamilton, N.Y., to face the defending Patriot League champions, Colgate University, on November 9. The two teams have split the past six meetings.

The Rams close out the season with back-to-back home games, beginning with a visit from Holy Cross for the annual Ram-Crusader Cup Game on Saturday, November 16, which will also be Homecoming Weekend. The game will mark the 57th meeting between the Rams and the Crusaders. Fordham has taken five of the past seven matchups with their fellow Jesuit institution.

Fordham closes out the regular season by welcoming Bucknell University to Jack Coffey Field on November 23. The Rams have taken the past six meetings with the Bison, including a 17-14 win in Lewisburg last November.
