Towson, Md. – (March 15, 2019) – Towson's Josh Seils scattered five hits over eight innings of work with six strikeouts, while Richard Miller and Noah Cabrera both hit a home run, as the Tigers defeated the Fordham Rams, 8-0, at Schuerholz Park in Towson, Maryland.
With the loss, Fordham fell to 10-8 on the season, while Towson improved to 2-11.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning, when Towson's Noah Cabrera connected on a solo home run to left.
The Tigers then scored three runs in the fifth, three in the sixth, and one in the seventh for an 8-0 lead.
That cushion was enough for Towson's Josh Seils (1-2) to get the win, as he pitched eight innings of five-hit ball.
The Rams were bitten by a number of miscues in the game, as Fordham committed four errors and hit six batters, leading to five unearned runs.
Matt Mikulski (1-3) took the loss, allowing two earned runs on four hits over 4.2 innings of work with four strikeouts.
Marc Bisogno gave up three unearned runs in 1.1 innings of relief with
Michael Ghiorzi and
Brandon Nance each pitching an inning.
At the plate, Fordham managed six hits, two of which came from
Alvin Melendez.
Jake MacKenzie,
C.J. Vazquez,
Jack Harnisch, and
Billy Godrick each had one hit each.
The Rams are back in action on Saturday, when Fordham takes on Cornell at 11:00 AM at Schuerholz Park.
