Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University Rams continue the 2018-2019 season, Fordham's 116th varsity season, and their 2019 Atlantic 10 schedule by hosting the Saint Joseph's University Hawks in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday, February 27, at 9:00 p.m.
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Tim McMaster (p-b-p) and Kenny Ducey (color) announcing and broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and
www.wfuvsports.org with Rafaelle Elia (p-b-p) and Vinny DeBellis (color) announcing.
The game is part of the
Jesuit Basketball Spotlight (JBS), a program developed by the
Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) in 2008 to bring greater awareness of Jesuit education and its shared mission through the more than 80 games played by men's and women's basketball teams every season. The nation's 28 Jesuit colleges and universities are part of a global network of 189 institutions of higher learning that are rooted in the traditions of academic excellence, service, and a faith that does justice.
Fordham enters the game with an 11-16 overall record, 2-12 in the Atlantic 10, and is coming off a 74-53 A-10 loss to St. Bonaventure in the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday afternoon while Saint Joseph's is 11-16 overall on the season, 4-10 in the conference, after an 80-79 A-10 loss at Massachusetts on Saturday afternoon.
Wednesday night's contest will be the 56th meeting between Fordham and Saint Joseph's on the hardwood with the Hawks leading the all-time series, which started in the 1919-20 season, 37-18, and have won five of the past six over the Rams. Saint Joseph's took both of last year's meetings, a 68-46 victory behind 25 points from James Demery and 22 from Pierfrancesco Oliva and a 71-55 win in the Rose Hill Gym on February 14 as Demery netted 20 points and Shavar Newkirk added 19 for the Hawks.

Nick Honor is ninth in the Atlantic 10, and 12th among all NCAA Div. I freshmen, averaging 16.0 ppg.
• Honor has scored in double figures in 24 of the 27 games this year.

Chuba Ohams is averaging 8.4 ppg and 8.2 rpg over the last nine games while junior forward
Jesse Bunting is averaging 10.3 ppg and 6.0 rpg over the past seven while shooting .633 (31-49) from the field.
• The Rams lead the Atlantic 10, and are 40th in the NCAA, in turnover margin at +2.9.
• The Rams are second in the Atlantic 10 in three-pointers made/game (9.0).
• The Rams are led by two captains in 2018-2019, senior forward
David Pekarek and senior guard
Antwon Portley.
• Fordham is one of the youngest teams in the NCAA Div. I this year with eight freshmen and two sophomores on the 17-man roster.
