Bronx, N.Y. – What a difference a week makes. Last week at this time the Fordham University basketball squad was in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., soaking in 80 degree weather. Today the Rams arrived at the Rose Hill Gym in the midst of a winter storm warning, with rain and snow falling in the Bronx. But the inclement climate didn't bother the Rams as they led from start to finish in a 66-45 win over Maryland Eastern Shore.
With the win, Fordham improves to 5-2 while UMES stays winless at 0-9.
Chuba Ohams led all scorers with 18 points and he added eleven rebounds for his second double-double of the year.
Jalen Cobb netted nine points and dished out five assists while four other Rams scored eight points in the win.
The Rams opened a big lead early, using an 18-0 run to turn a 5-5 tie into a 23-5 lead midway through the first.
The closest the Hawks would get from that point was 15, 34-19, a minute into the second half.
