Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University defense should apply for overtime for today's performance at Colgate. The unit was on the field for over 37 minutes which allowed sophomore linebacker
Ryan Greenhagen to record a career-high 19 tackles but the Ram offense couldn't get on track as Fordham fell to Colgate, 24-13, in a Patriot League game at a cold Andy Kerr Stadium.
With the loss, Fordham fall to 3-7 overall, 1-3 in the Patriot League, while Colgate improves to 3-8 overall, 2-3 in the league.
Nine of Greenhagen tackles where solo stops and he also had one for loss. Senior defensive back
James Biggs-Frazier had nine tackles for the Rams, while also forcing a Raider fumble, while junior linebacker
Glenn Cunningham finished with eight.
Offensively the Rams were held to 208 yards with sophomore quarterback
Tim DeMorat completing 18 of 28 passes for 175 yards.
The Raiders took an early 7-0 lead but a 37-yard
Andrew Mevis field goal midway through the first quarter made it a 7-3 game.
Fordham then took advantage of a Colgate turner to score on a six-yard
Trey Sneed run to take a 10-3 lead with 9:24 left in the second. But Colgate scored just before the half to take a 14-10 lead into the break.
A 42-yard Mevis three-pointer made it a one-point game early the third quarter but that was as close as the Rams would get.
