Newport News, Va. – Fordham women's basketball freshman Anna DeWolfe has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. DeWolfe was instrumental in the Rams first two wins of the season this past week.
 
"Anna was a key component to both our wins this week," Head coach Stephanie Gaitley said, "She is getting more comfortable and confident every game. She was a difference-maker in our road win against a really good Charlotte team."
 
DeWolfe matched and then surpassed her career-high in points in wins over Northeastern and at Charlotte. Against the Huskies, the freshman scored 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting, 3-of-6 from behind the arc, while chipping in four rebounds, three assists, and a season-high three steals over 33 minutes.
 
At Charlotte on Sunday, DeWolfe missed her first five shots from the field in the opening 10 minutes but from the start of the second quarter on, she scored 25 points to lead all scorers. Overall, she did so on 10-of-22 shooting from the floor, 4-of-11 from long range, and added three boards and three more dimes, while playing all 40 minutes.
 
For the week, DeWolfe averaged 20.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals over 36.5 minutes. She shot 48.4% from the floor on 31 attempts, 41.2% from deep on 17 attempts, and hit all three free throws. For the season, DeWolfe is second on the team with 13.8 points and 35.8 minutes played, leads the team with 21 assists, and is shooting 41.7% overall with the second-most field goal attempts.
 
The Rams continue on their four-game road stretch with a trip to Nassau for the Bahamas Hoopfest this weekend. Fordham will open with #25 Arkansas on Friday and play Lehigh on Saturday, with both games beginning at 4 p.m. ET.
