Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham freshman wide receiver Dequece Carter was named Patriot League Football Rookie of the Week it was announced today. It is the first weekly honor of the season for Carter.

In a 49-27 Patriot League loss to Holy Cross on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday, Carter hauled in seven passes for 120 yards and two scores. He caught a one-yard scoring strike rom quarterback Tim DeMorat late in the first half and a 13-yarder on the final play of the game.

Among his seven catches was a highlight-reel, one-handed, reception in the second quarter that appeared on ESPN's "Saturday's Best" as the "Best One-Handed Catch".
