Men’s Basketball Flips Dolphins

Onyi Eyisi records double-double in exhibition win over Staten Island

Bronx, N.Y. – Flipper, the television dolphin, was known for a distinctive tail walk, rising high out of the water to deflect a ball in the air. But it's not clear that the television mammal could have helped the College of Staten Island Dolphins tonight as sophomore Onyi Eyisi and junior Chuba Ohams dominated the low post, combining for 42 points, to lead Fordham to a 91-65 exhibition win in the Rose Hill Gym.

Eyisi recorded a double-double with 25 points, shooting 8-for-12 from the field, and ten rebounds while Ohams added 17 points and six rebounds. Junior Ivan Raut also finished in double figures for the Rams with eleven points, shooting 3-for-5 from behind the arc.

Fordham led by one, 18-17, midway through the first half but the Rams closed out the half with a 26-11 run to take a 44-28 lead at the break. Ohams led the Fordham run with six points.

The Rams got the lead to as many as 32 in the second half, 76-44, on an Eyisi dunk off an alley-oop feed from Josh Colon with 5:49 remaining.
