Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham volleyball team kept its momentum going with a third straight victory and a second straight sweep, 25-21, 25-13, 25-12, over Manhattan on Wednesday night inside the Rose Hill Gym and set a new three-set single-match program record with a .485 team attack percentage in doing so. With the win, the Rams improve to 5-5 on the season, while the Jaspers fall to 0-11 overall.

"Setting the highest hitting percentage in three sets in Fordham history is a thrilling achievement," Head coach
Ian Choi said, "I think it shows how purposeful our training is in the gym and how hard these girls are working. Despite their heavy class load and nagging aches and pains through the grind of nonconference play, they're showing up every day with a great attitude and a willingness to work."

After posting a season-high .262 clip in attack on Saturday against Cal State Fullerton with a season-low nine errors, the Rams matched the latter and blew past the former on Wednesday night. Only four Rams committed an error in attack and three of them committed just one. Fordham totaled 42 kills on 68 total attacks.

The Rams started the match with six straight points but allowed six unanswered to the visitors to knot thing back up, prompting Choi to call a timeout. Fordham took the lead shortly thereafter and did not give it up although the Jaspers kept pace with the hosts. Fordham saw out the first set, 25-21, with four different players notching between three and five kills.

Fordham did not take its foot off the pedal in sets two and three, allowing just 12 kills over the final two frames and limiting the Jaspers to just 25 points.

Three Rams hit over .450 with at least six kills:
Kaitlin Morley with 10 kills (.692),
Joey Landeros with nine kills (.471), and
Claire O'Neil with six (.667).
McKenna Lahr committed six errors to go with her eight kills. Five others got on the scoresheet but committed just one error among them.
Makaela Tanaka assisted on 35 points,
Morgan Williams led the defense with 11 digs, and Landeros blocked a team-high three attacks.

The old three-set attack efficiency record had stood for nearly 14 years to the day – September 18
th, 2004 against Canisius.

Fordham is back in action Friday night at Columbia at 6 p.m. in its opening match of the Battle of the Big Apple. The Rams will then host both St. Francis Brooklyn and Dartmouth on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m., to conclude the tournament. All three matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
