Volleyball Reveals 2018 Schedule

Bronx, N.Y. – Head coach Ian Choi and the Fordham volleyball program have today announced its schedule for the upcoming 2018 fall campaign, Choi's inaugural season in charge on Rose Hill. The schedule includes four preseason tournaments, including the 16^th annual Rose Hill Classic, 13 home games, and 14 Atlantic 10 contests stretching from August 24 to November 10.
 
The Rams won't travel far for their first preseason tournament, heading over to Queens for St. John's Jack Kaiser Classic. Fordham will begin its season against Eastern Michigan on August 24 at 11 a.m. and then play a doubleheader the following day, first against the hosts at 10 a.m. and then against Central Connecticut State at 1 p.m.
 
The following weekend will bring the 16^th annual Rose Hill Classic, which will include Marist, Charlotte, and Bryant. Fordham will kick things off with a doubleheader on Friday, August 31, first against Marist at 2:30 p.m. before playing Charlotte that night at 7:30 p.m. The Rams will then take on Bryant on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
 
Fordham will then head across the country to the University of Las Vegas for the Rebel Challenge, playing the hosts at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 7 and then Eastern Kentucky that night at 8 p.m. The Rams will then square off with Cal State Fullerton the next day at 2:30 p.m. All times are Eastern.
 
The Rams will return to the city for the yearly Battle of the Bronx, hosting Manhattan on Wednesday night, September 12, at 7 p.m., before partaking in the Battle of the Big Apple, co-hosted by Columbia and Fordham. The Rams will play in Manhattan on Friday, September 14, at 6 p.m. before hosting both St. Francis Brooklyn and Dartmouth the following day at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
 
Atlantic 10 action begins the following weekend. Fordham will begin league play with three straight home matches, first against Rhode Island on Saturday, September 22, at 5 p.m. inside the Rose Hill Gym, one of its two one-match weekends of the slate. To round out September, the Rams will welcome both Duquesne and La Salle to the Bronx, taking on the Dukes that Friday, September 28, at 7 p.m. and playing the Explorers on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
 
The Rams then embark on a two-weekend, four-match road swing, first traveling to the Georges over the first weekend of October on consecutive nights. Fordham will first play at George Mason on October 5 at 7 p.m. before traveling to George Washington the next day at the same time. The next weekend, the Rams will play at Dayton on October 14 at 7 p.m. and then at Saint Louis that Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Fordham will host Davidson and VCU on October 19 and October 21, respectively, at noon and 1 p.m. The former will be the team's annual Field Trip Day featuring thousands of local schoolchildren in attendance. The Rams will then finish the road portion of their conference slate with a trip to La Salle and Duquesne on October 26 and 28 at the traditional 7 p.m. and 1 p.m. start times. before heading up to Rhode Island on Saturday, November 3 at 4 p.m.
 
The Rams will then wrap up the regular season with a pair of home contests on back-to-back days. Both matches will begin at 3 p.m. First up is George Washington on Friday, November 9, followed by George Mason the following day.
 
The following week brings the Atlantic 10 championship.
