Bronx, N.Y. - (May 18, 2018) - Richmond's Justin Cook had three hits, while Brandon Johnson and D.J. Lee both drove in two runs, as the Spiders spoiled Senior Day at Houlihan Park on Friday with an 8-2 win over the Fordham Rams.

With the loss, Fordham finishes the regular season at 34-17-1, 16-8 in the Atlantic 10, while Richmond ends their regular season at 31-22, 15-9 in the league.

Richmond got out to an early 2-0 lead, scoring once in the second and once in the fourth inning on an RBI-single and sacrifice fly by D.J. Lee.

Fordham cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, as the Rams got three straight singles from
Justin Bardwell,
Brian Goulard, and
Matt Tarabek to score a run.

The Spiders though would chip away at Fordham pitching, scoring once in the next three innings to extend the lead to 5-1. Richmond then scored twice in the eighth and once in the ninth to close out their scoring.

Matt Mikulski (4-5) took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits over four innings of work.Â
Joseph Quintal gave up two runs over his three innings of relief with three strikeouts, while
John Stankiewicz,
Brandon Martin, and
Jake Bernardo finished out the game. Both Bernardo and fellow senior
Ben Greenberg were honored before the game as a part of Senior Day ceremonies.

At the plate, Goulard was 3-for-4 with a double, extending his career-high hit streak to ten games, while Bardwell was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.Â
Jake MacKenzie had three walks and three stolen bases in the game as well.

The Fordham baseball team will now await the results from the final games of league play before finding out their seed and game time for the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship, which begins on Wednesday, May 23
rd, at George Washington's Tucker Field at Barcroft Park in Arlington, Virginia.
