Men’s Basketball Travels to Maine on Tuesday

Rams look to go to 7-1 on season

Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University men's basketball Rams continues their 2018-2019 season by traveling to Bangor, Maine, to take on the University of Maine Black Bears in the Cross Insurance Arena on Tuesday, December 4, at 7:00 p.m.
 
The game will be streamed live on ESPN3 and broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) www.wfuvsports.org with Emmanuel Berbari (p-b-p) and Jackson Heil (color) announcing.
 
Fordham enters the game with a 6-1 record and is coming off a 57-56 win at Manhattan College last Saturday while Maine is 0-8 on the season after a 63-59 overtime loss at Saint Peter's on Saturday.
 
The game will be the fourth meeting between Fordham and Maine on the hardwood. The Rams lead the all-time series, 2-1, and took last year's matchup, 67-66 in overtime in the Rose Hill Gym.
 
Notes
• Fordham is looking to open the season with a 7-1 record for the second time over the past four years.
 
• The game will be the first in the state of Maine for the Fordham men's basketball program.
 
• Fordham is third in the Atlantic in scoring, averaging 76.0 ppg, and is second in blocks (5.4/
game).
 
• The Rams connected on a school-record 16 three-pointers in the season-opener with CCNY
and are averaging 10.6 three-pointers/game, second in the Atlantic 10.
 
• Fordham is looking to win back-to-back non-conference roads games for the first time since 20005 (Virginia and Fairfield).

• The Rams will be led by two captains in 2018-2019, senior forward David Pekarek and senior guard Antwon Portley.
 
• Besides eight new freshmen, the Rams will also welcome two transfers to the lineup in 2018-2019, Portley (Saint Peter's) and senior Erten Gazi (DePaul). Both sat out last year after transferring to Fordham and each will have another year of eligibility remaining.
 
• Fordham is one of the youngest teams in the NCAA Div. I this year with eight freshmen and two sophomores on the 17-man roster.
 
• The Rams are an international team with five players from foreign countries.
