Bronx, N.Y. – It has been a long time since Fordham and CCNY paired up in a men's basketball game but the Rams made up for lost time tonight, opening the 2018-2019 season with a 106-58 win over the Beavers in the Rose Hill Gym.
The Fordham freshman had a big part in the win, combining to score 68 of the 106 points, led by 22 from guard
Ty Perry, who shot 8-for-13 from the field and 6-for-11 from behind the arc, and 18 from guard
Nick Honor.
The Rams took advantage of the CCNY zone defense by setting school records for most three-pointers in a game (16) and most three-point attempts (44).
The game started slowly until the Rams used a 10-0 streak to turn a seven-point lead into a 17-point advantage, 26-9, with 11:11 left in the half on a
David Pekarek three-pointer.
Fordham increased the lead to 20 at the break, 45-25, but the Beavers managed to trim their deficit to 13, 46-33, early in the second half before Fordham used a 19-5 run to take a commanding 65-38 lead on a
Ty Perry three with 11:44 remaining.
