Bronx, N.Y. – (November 3-4, 2018) – The Fordham water polo team wrapped up its MAWPC regular season this weekend down in Maryland and Washington, D.C., earning victories in two of three matches.
Fordham is now 14-14 on the year with a 6-6 mark in the MAWPC.
On Saturday, the Rams started the weekend with a 12-7 victory over Johns Hopkins.
Fordham got out to a hot start and never looked back, scoring eight of the first nine goals in the game to lead 8-1 with 2:57 left in the second quarter. The Rams were able to cruise from there as goalkeeper
Bailey O'Mara was a brick wall, being credited with 17 stops over 3 ½ quarters of work.

Offensively,
Phillip Wang was the big gun, netting four goals and an assist, while
Jake Miller-Tolt,
Dimitris Koukias, and
Samuel Varshisky each had two goals each.
Magnus Sims and
Ian Watson had the final two tallies for Fordham.
In the nightcap on Saturday, Fordham continue its winning ways with an 11-8 at Navy.
It was another wire-to-wire win for the Rams, highlighted by scoring six of the first seven goals on the contest.
For Fordham, O'Mara had another strong showing in goal with 11 saves to go with two assists and two steals. Miller-Tolt and Varshisky each netted the hat trick with Wang adding a pair of goals. Koukias, Sims, and Watson also scored for Fordham.
The final game of the weekend was on Sunday, where the Rams fell in a tight affair to George Washington, 15-13.
Fordham took charge in the first quarter with a 2-1 lead on goals by Watson and Wang, however the Colonials scored seven times in the second to Fordham's three for an 8-5 lead at the half.
The Rams were able to rally back within one on a couple of occasions, the last at 11-10 on a goal from Sims late in the third quarter. The Colonials though had the answer in the final period, scoring four times to Fordham's three for the win.
For Fordham, O'Mara finished his big weekend with 12 saves in goal, while on the offensive end, Miller-Tolt and Varshisky once again had three goals each with Wang and Koukias netting two each. Sims, Watson and
George Maltby closed out the scoring with one goal apiece.
The Fordham water polo team will next be in action on Saturday, November 10
th for the annual Judge Cup game against Iona at 7:00 PM in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.
