Bronx, N.Y. – (November 10, 2018) – Behind four goals from
Jake Miller-Tolt, the Fordham water polo sent its senior class off with an 11-8 win over the Iona Gaels to win the back the Francis X. Judge Cup at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center on Saturday night.
With the win, Fordham finished the regular season at 15-14 overall, while Iona fell to 6-25.
After a tight first quarter that saw the teams tied at two, Fordham scored four times in the second to pull out to a 6-4 lead.
The Rams extended the lead to three, 8-5, after the third quarter, as Miller-Tolt netted his third goal of the game, while
Dimitris Koukias netted his second goal of the game.
The teams then played even in the fourth quarter, giving Fordham the 11-8 win and possession of the Judge Cup once again.
For Fordham, Miller-Tolt finished with four goals and two steals, while Koukias had two goals and three steals.
Tristen Knoflick and
Phillip Wang each had a goal and two steals with
Magnus Sims adding a goal and three assists.
Ian Watson and
George Maltby rounded out the scoring with a goal each. In net,
Patrick Coffey earned the win, making seven saves in the contest.

Prior to the game, Fordham honored its six seniors, Coffey, Watson, Sims,
Samuel Varshisky,
Will Smoot, and
Cole Donnelly.
The Fordham water polo team now looks forward to the 2018 MAWPC Championship, which will be held at Fordham from November 16-18. The Rams will be seeded fourth and face off with fifth seeded Navy at 4:30 PM on Friday, November 16
