Bronx, N.Y. – (October 26, 2018) – The Fordham swimming & diving teams were back in action on Friday night, hosting a dual meet with Boston University and a non-scoring meet with the Brown women. In the scoring meets, the Fordham women posted a 174-125 win over Boston University, while the Terrier men defeated the Rams, 193-104.
Over the course of the meet, Fordham had four event winners, three of which came on the men's side.
Auston Ramsay captured first in the 100 backstroke in a season-best time of 52.46 seconds, with
Bryce Bollesen taking the top spot in the 50 freestyle in a season-best time of 21.65 seconds. The final men's winner was
Christopher Craig in the three-meter dive, scoring 221.50 points. The lone event winner for the women was
Milly Furneaux, who won the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.42.
Though there were not many overall first place finishes for the Rams, there were plenty of season-best performances, which came in second or third overall.
Michelle Martin and
Tara Brunner grabbed second and third place respectively in the 50 freestyle in 24.25 and 24.34 seconds, while
Joseph Vizza had three second place finishes in the 200 (1:45.13), 50 (21.91), and 100 (47.88) freestyle events. Vizza was also a part of the 400 freestyle relay with Bollesen,
Travis Monahan, and
Lucas Keh, that took second in a season-best time of 3:11.27.
Other second place finishes included Monahan in the 100 breaststroke (59.71), Craig in the one-meter dive (205.00), and Q Steffen in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.14).
Fordham missed three more second place finishes by touch outs each time. The 200 medley relay of Martin, Furneax, Brunner, and
Theresa Mullen, was third by .01 seconds in 1:47.32, while
Bayley Frierson missed on a second place finish by .04 seconds (10:32.31), as did
Caitlin McNary in the 500 freestyle by .05 seconds (5:06.17).

Other third place performers were McNary in the 200 freestyle (1:53.94),
Naima Mackrel in the 100 backstroke (58.77),
Hannah McGee in the 200 butterfly (2:07.88), Brunner in the 100 freestyle (52.82),
Paulina Watson in the 200 backstroke (2:06.26), and the 400 freestyle relay (McNary,
Kiara Norris,
Samantha McDonald, Mullen – 3:33.97)

th, when the Rams host Fairfield at 5:00 PM in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.
