Bronx, N.Y. – (October 20, 2018) – The Fordham water polo team capped off a perfect week with a pair of wins over Connecticut College and Salem International at the Messmore Aquatic Center, extending its win streak to four matches.
With the two wins, Fordham is now 10-12 on the year.
Fordham opened Saturday with an offensive barrage against Connecticut College, defeating the Camels, 18-1.
The Rams led 12-0 at halftime, before Connecticut College was able to get a goal in the third quarter. Fordham then netted six straight markers for the 18-1 final.
For Fordham,
Dimitris Koukias,
Tristen Knoflick, and
Samuel Varshisky led the way with three goals each.
Jake Miller-Tolt added a pair of markers with four assists and two steals with
Ian Watson also having a pair of goals.
Gordon Rowland,
Phillip Wang,
Magnus Sims,
George Maltby, and
Sam Wheeler rounded out the scoring for the Rams. In net,
Patrick Coffey made seven stops to go with a steal.
In game two, Fordham trailed Salem International into the third quarter, but a big third quarter surge, which saw seven goals scored, proved the difference for the Rams in a 14-8 win.

In that third quarter, Miller-Tolt scored four of the seven goals, one of which was a penalty shot and one was an extra-man goal. Koukias scored twice in the period with Wang having the final tally. Fordham then capped the win with four goals in the final period for the victory.
For the Rams, Miller-Tolt had a game-high six goals on seven shots with two assists, while Koukias and Watson had two tallies apiece.
Joseph Agabs, Wang, Varshisky, and Sims rounded out the markers for Fordham.
Bailey O'Mara played the game in goal making 11 saves in the win.
The Fordham water polo team will next be in action on Saturday, October 27
th, when the Rams host Johns Hopkins at 11:00 AM, as well as Bucknell at 7:00 PM.
