Boston, Mass. – The Fordham swimming & diving team made its way to up to Boston University for a Saturday meet with the Terriers, as well as a non-scoring meet with Brown University. Against BU, the Rams earned a split, as the women won 161-137, while the men fell by a count of 163-122.
Overall, three Rams placed first in an event on Saturday, led by sophomore
Amelia Bullock, who won both the 100 butterfly (56.07) and the 200 butterfly (2:02.89)
Auston Ramsay earned his first career win as a Rams, taking the top spot in the 100 backstroke in 51.18 seconds, while
Nele Albers took home the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.66. Ramsay was also a part of the Fordham 200 medley relay with
Travis Monahan,
Joe Mercurio, and
Joseph Vizza, that finished second in 1:32.69.
Vizza added a second place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:41.95), as did
Michelle Martin in the 100 backstroke, who clocked in at 58.16 seconds, and
Catherine Alabanza, who was second in the 200 backstroke (2:05.04).
The Rams also placed second in the men's 400 freestyle relay, as Monahan, Mercurio,
Bryce Bollesen, and Vizza finished in a time of 3:06.11
The Fordham swimming & diving team will next be in action on November 10
th at Fairfield, beginning at 5:00 PM.
