Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham volleyball team dropped its second Atlantic 10 conference contest, 3-1, to visiting Duquesne on Sunday afternoon, to fall to 8-9 on the year and 1-1 in league play. The Dukes improve to 10-6 overall and join the Rams at 1-1.

Duquesne took a tight first set, 25-23, before the Rams erased a seven-point deficit and stormed back to win the second, 25-22. Fordham struggled out of the long break and the visitors won big in the third stanza, 25-14, before finishing off the match, 25-20, in the fourth.

Aside from the third set, the Rams held their own offensively but couldn't halt the Dukes' prolific attack, as Duquesne finished the day with a .303 team attack percentage and 58 kills to just 15 errors. Defensively, the Rams made two blocks, while the Dukes racked up seven.

Both Olivia Fairchild and Kaitlin Morley enjoyed their second successive double-doubles. Fairchild finished with a team-high 12 kills, Morley with 11, and the pair each had 12 digs. Maddy Walsh assisted on 39 kills, while Morgan Williams dug out 17 balls. The trio of Kristen Ostach, Molly Oshinski, and Elise Benjamin all had seven kills, with Benjamin's .412 attack rate standing out as second-highest in the match. Ostach was a big part of the Rams' second set rally, killing four balls in five attempts and adding a timely solo swat.

The Rams next travel to George Washington and George Mason next Friday and Saturday on back-to-back nights. Both matches will begin at 7 p.m.
