Riverdale, N.Y. – Fordham goalkeeper
Rashid Nuhu made four saves, while Manhattan goalkeeper Connor Hayes also had four stops, as the Rams and Jaspers played to a scoreless tie at Gaelic Park in the Battle of the Bronx.
With the tie, Fordham moves to 1-3-2 on the year, while Manhattan is 0-4-1.
After a first half that saw just two shots on goal, the two offenses tried to find that first goal in the second half, as Fordham registered nine shots to Manhattan's seven. However, both goalkeepers kept each scoring chance out of the net.
Each team also had a shot hit the crossbar, as Manhattan's Troy Carrington hit the crossbar in the 75
th minute, while Fordham's
Jannik Loebe did so in the 78
th minute.
For the game, Fordham out shot Manhattan, 16-10, while both squads had seven corner kicks each.
Eric Ohlendorf had a team-high three shots for Fordham, while Kiels Kirch had a match-high four shots for the Jaspers.
The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Saturday, September 17
th, when the Rams travel to DeLand, Florida, to meet the Stetson Hatters at 7:00 PM.
