BOSTON – Mirroring last weekend's Terrier/Rose Hill Classic, the Fordham Volleyball team dropped its first two matches of this weekend's Northeastern Tournament, but rebounded in the final contest, against Presbyterian, with a straight-set sweep. Fordham bounces back up to .500 on the year at 5-5. Binghamton improves to 3-5 after their match, while the Blue Hose fall to 2-8 overall.

"We came out focused against Presbyterian," head coach
Gini Ullery said earlier, "When we took care of the ball in serve receive, we were able to run a balanced offense."

Continuing the similar trends of a week ago, the Rams dropped their first match of Saturday's doubleheader in four sets, winning the third set to avoid a sweep but falling a set later. The Rams hit .217 as a team in that one, however the Bearcats were very efficient with a .293 clip. Fordham's third set was unlike its other three, though, with a season-high, for one set, 17 kills on 40 total attacks (.275).

Freshman
Olivia Fairchild once again led all players with 17 kills of her own, the lone Ram to reach double digits, right ahead of
Elise Benjamin's season-high eight and
Kristen Ostach and
Molly Oshinski with seven. Fairchild continues to rack up aces, this time with four, also adding six digs.
Maddy Walsh racked up 33 assists, while junior captain
Emily Fronk, making her season debut, notched eight helpers. Freshman libero
Morgan Williams dug 14 balls, followed by Oshinski with six.

Fordham took its time off between matches to refuel and raced out to a quick sweep of the Blue Hose, 25-22, 25-22, 25-19. The Rams' attack in game two was one of its most efficient of the season, with a season-low 13 attack errors leading to a .239 attack percentage, third-highest through 10 contests. Fordham hit at a .300 clip in the first set and .343 in the third, sandwiched around a .125 mark in the middle stanza.

Fairchild led all players with 14 kills on a season-high .375 clip, doubling up with 11 digs, and adding three aces and an assist for good measure, while classmate
Kaitlin Morley also double-doubled with 12 kills and 13 digs, the latter matching a season-high. Walsh is up to 397 assists on the year after adding 33 against Presbyterian, plus a season-high three aces.
Fairchild was named to the All-Tournament team for the second week in a row.

"We have to continue to be hungry and compete every time we step on the court." Ullery added.
