Follow on Twitter Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University men's basketball Rams open play at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championships by facing the University of Richmond Spiders in the Barclays Center on Thursday, March 10, at 12:00 PM.

Fordham, the eight seed, enters the game with a 17-12 overall record, 8-10 in the Atlantic 10, and is coming off a 64-61 A-10 win over Rhode Island in the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday afternoon. Richmond, the ninth seed, enters with a 15-15 overall record, 7-11 in the conference, after an 83-73 league loss at George Mason on Saturday.
Thursday afternoon's contest will be the 24th meeting between Fordham and Richmond on the hardwood. Richmond leads the all-time series, which started in the 1984-85 season, 16-7. The Spiders have won the last eleven meetings, including both meetings this year, a 93-82 win on January 10 in the Rose Hill Gym as ShawnDre' Jones netted a game-high 35 points and Marshall Wood added 29, hitting seven threes, and a 71-67 victory in Richmond on February 13 as Jones netted 17 points while
Ryan Rhoomes scored a game-high 19 and added 12 rebounds for the Rams.

• The Rams are looking to win their opening game at the Atlantic 10 Championship for the third year in a row (Fordham defeated George Mason in the first round in each of the past two years).

Ryan Rhoomes has recorded eleven double-doubles this year, the most recent a 27-point, 11-rebound game vs. Rhode Island on March 5, his second straight and sixth double-double over the past seven games. Rhoomes now has 18 career double-doubles and has scored in double figures in 26 of the 29 games this year.
• The 17 wins in 2015-2016 are the most for a Fordham team since the 2006-2007 squad won 18 times.

Ryan Rhoomes is ranked seventh in the NCAA in field goal percentage, hitting 65.1 percent of his shots (157-241). The school record for single season field goal percentage is .616 by Damon Lopes in 1990-1991.

Mandell Thomas enters the game with 1,366 career points, 14th on the Fordham all-time scoring list. Thomas is six points behind Charlie Yelverton (1968-1971) for 13th on the list.

Ryan Rhoomes brought his career total to 907, good for seventh place on the Fordham career rebounding list. He is ten behind John Stevens (1962-1965) for sixth on the all-time list.

Jeff Neubauer's teams at Eastern Kentucky were well known for their defensive prowess, routinely ranking at the top of the NCAA in steals and his first Fordham team is no different, recording 246 steals in 2015-2016 (8.5/game), second in the Atlantic 10 and 12th in the NCAA.
