Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University men's basketball Rams open their 2016-2017 Atlantic 10 season, the 114th varsity season at Rose Hill, by hosting the Duquesne University Dukes in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Friday, December 30, at 7:00 p.m.
The game will be streamed live on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network with Mike Watts (p-b-p) and Andrew Bogusch (color) announcing and can also be heard live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on www.wfuvsports.org with Drew Casey (p-b-p) and James Decker (color) announcing. Follow the links above.
Fordham enters the game with a 6-7 overall record after an 83-60 win over Central Connecticut State University in the Rose Hill Gym on December 21 while Duquesne is 7-6 on the season after defeating Colgate, 70-57, in Pittsburgh on December 22.
Friday night's contest will be the 35th meeting between Fordham and Duquesne on the hardwood with the Dukes leading the all-time series, which started in the 1949-50 season, 20-14. Fordham took last year's matchup, 78-69, on March 2 in Pittsburgh as
Ryan Rhoomes netted 17 points and grabbed 17 rebounds and
Joseph Chartouny added 13 points and seven assists.

• Sophomore guard
Joseph Chartouny leads the Atlantic 10 and is second in the NCAA in steals/game, averaging 3.42 and is second in the league and 33rd in assists/game (5.8). He tied his career-high with seven steals against Rutgers.
• The Rams are second in the Atlantic 10 and 40th in the NCAA in three-pointers attempted this this year (332).
• The Rams lead the Atlantic 10 and are third in the NCAA with 145 total steals in 2016-2017.
• Fordham leads the Atlantic 10 and is third in the NCAA in steals/game (11.2).
• Fordham has recorded double digit steal totals in eleven of the 13 games this year.
