Bronx, N.Y. – Lehigh's Doyle Tuvesson's goal in the 84th minute proved to be the difference maker on Tuesday night, as the Mountain Hawks topped the Fordham Rams, 2-1, at Jack Coffey Field.

The loss puts Fordham's record at 5-5-1 on the year, while Lehigh improved to 5-8-1.

Lehigh netted the opening goal of the game in the 16th minute.  Off a free kick by Matt Morana, Zarin Tuten knocked in a header from six yards out for his second goal of the season.

About 10 minutes later, Fordham tied the game at one on a long distance effort by Janos Loebe.  Loebe lined up a free kick, 48 yards from goal.  Loebe put a strong kick into the ball which the Lehigh goalkeeper, Will Smith, overran.  The ball bounced eight yards from goal and in for Loebe's team-leading fifth goal of the season, matching his total from last season.

Jordan Black had seven saves in his first career start.

The score remained that way into the second half due to some outstanding play from Fordham junior goalkeeper Jordan Black, who made his first career start on Tuesday.  He had seven saves on the night, however, in the 84th minute, Lehigh found the go-ahead goal by Doyle Tuvesson, as he dribbled into the box off a pass from Gianfranco Giammatteo, and scored from eight yards.  It was his second of the season.

Fordham had two chances to try and tie the game back up, the best of which was in the 86th minute on a Joergen Oland header off a Loebe corner kick, but Smith was in the perfect spot to make the save and give Lehigh the 2-1 win.

The Fordham men's soccer team is back in action on Sunday, October 23rd, when the Rams get back into Atlantic 10 action against the Davidson Wildcats at Jack Coffey Field.  The game is the second half of a soccer doubleheader with game time set for approximately 4:00 PM.
