Men's Basketball Hosts Richmond on Sunday

Rams looking for 11th straight home win

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University Rams continue their 2016 Atlantic 10 season, the 113th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, by hosting the University of Richmond Spiders in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Sunday, January 10, at 2:00 PM.
 
The game will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network with Jason Knapp (p-b-p) and Blaine Taylor (color) announcing and can also be heard live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on www.wfuvsports.org with Matt Moro (p-b-p) and James Decker (color) announcing. Follow the links above.

Fordham enters the game with a 10-3 overall record, 1-1 in the Atlantic 10, after a 66-61 league win over La Salle in the Rose Hill Gym last Wednesday. Richmond enters the game with an 8-6 overall record, 0-2 in the conference, after a 77-65 A-10 loss at Rhode Island on Saturday.

Sunday afternoon's contest will be the 22nd meeting between Fordham and Richmond on the hardwood with the Spiders leading the all-time series, which started in the 1984-85 season, 14-7. The Spiders have won the last nine meetings, including a 73-71 win in Richmond last year on February 11 as Kendall Anthony netted 19 points and ShawnDre' Jones added 18 for the Spiders while Eric Paschall led all scorers with 24. 
 
Notes
• The Rams have won their past ten games in the historic Rose Hill Gym. The ten-game home winning streak is the longest since a 12-game streak in 1990-1991.
 
• Senior guard Mandell Thomas enters the game with 1,259 career points, 16th on the Fordham all-time scoring list. Thomas is 18 points behind Dave Maxwell (1980-1983) for 15th on the list.
 
• With his career-high 18 rebounds in the La Salle game, forward Ryan Rhoomes brought his career total to 745, moving him ahead of Bill Carlson (1949-1952) and into tenth place on the Fordham career rebounding list. Rhoomes is eleven behind Sanford Jenkins (1988-1992) for ninth on the all-time list.

• With his 29 blocked shots this year, forward Ryan Rhoomes now has 118 in his career, good for sixth place on the Fordham career blocks list. Rhoomes is four behind Kervin Bristol (2010-2012) for fifth on the all-time list.
