Gary Troyer Memorial Tournament Homepage The Fordham Water Polo team heads west for six matches over three days, including four at the Gary Troyer Memorial Tournament on Friday and Saturday. First up for the Rams (6-6, 2-2 CWPA) is standalone contests against La Verne (4-5) and Mt. San Antonio (10-4) on Thursday, October 1, starting with the former school at 3 p.m. (all times Eastern Standard), and the latter at 9 p.m.
Fordham then travels Pomona-Pitzer Colleges for this weekend's tournament. The Rams face #16 Whittier College (7-5), ranked first among Division III programs by the CWPA, on Friday, October 2, at 4:45 p.m., followed by a 9 p.m. contest against Redlands University (4-8). On Saturday, Fordham's opponents will be Occidental College (0-8) at 12 p.m. and California-Lutheran (2-5) at 3:45 p.m.

The Rams are coming off a weekend split against sturdy competition in M.I.T., Connecticut College, #18 Harvard, and #12 Brown. Fordham swept the first two matches on Saturday by a combined score of 29-12, but fell against the two nationally ranked programs the following day.
Senior
Andrew Gonzalez led the way with 11 goals on 16 shots for the weekend, a terrific shoot efficiency that was shared by the rest of the squad over the first two matches. The team shot 29-for-60 (48%) on Saturday and the 58% mark against Connecticut College was the second-highest of the season.
Sophomore goalie
Alex Jahns had a solid weekend with 13 saves to 10 goals against on Saturday, and stopped a career-best 11 attempts by Brown in the weekend finale, all coming in the first three periods.
Despite shooting 14% against a very stout Harvard defense in the morning, the Rams rallied to lead the 12
th-ranked Bears, 7-6, through three periods, but fell in the final frame. Gonzalez kept Fordham in the contest with a career-high five goals, in the first three periods, on six shots, with senior

Fordham will have five days to recover before hosting Iona next Thursday, October 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Messmore Acquatic Center.
