The Fordham men's soccer team wraps up non-conference play on Tuesday night, as the Rams make the trek to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for a 7:00 PM match-up with the Lehigh Mountainhawks. Fordham looks to extend its five-game unbeaten streak (2-0-3) against Lehigh, who stands at 4-3-1 on the year.

th all-time meeting between Fordham and Lehigh in a series that dates back to 1970. The Mountainhawks hold a 6-3-2 edge in the series. However since their last match in the Patriot League in 1994, Fordham is 2-0-2 against Lehigh, posting back-to-back 1-0 wins in 2010 and 2011.
NUHU NAMED A-10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly men's soccer awards today, and Fordham men's soccer freshman
Rashid Nuhu (Accra, Ghana) was named the conference's Rookie of the Week. It is Nuhu's first career weekly award, and marks the second straight week that a Rams' player has receieved the award (
Janos Loebe).
Rashid Nuhu Nuhu recorded the first two shutouts of his career this week as the Rams went 1-0-1. The goalkeeper made one save to go with a number of catches on set pieces in the Rams' 1-0 upset win over #21 Columbia on Wednesday. He then made three stops in a scoreless draw against NJIT on Saturday.
Nuhu lowered his GAA from 1.90 to 1.34 for the season after the two shutouts, improving his record to 2-3-2 on the season.
MEN'S SOCCER HONORED WITH NSCAA TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD: The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has announced its Team Academic Award winners for the 2014-15 academic year. Among those honored were both the Fordham men's and women's soccer teams for the sixth consecutive year. Fordham was one of 208 schools to have both of its soccer programs receive the Team Academic Award. A total of 859 collegiate soccer teams (305 men, 554 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.
LAST TIME OUT: Despite a 15-8 shot advantage, the Fordham men's soccer team could not get on the scoreboard, but then again neither NJIT, as the Rams and Highlanders played to a 0-0 draw at Jack Coffey Field on Saturday night.
The tie puts Fordham's record at 2-3-3, while NJIT moved to 2-4-2.
Fordham had the first scoring opportunity in the second minute, as
Kyle Bitterman's header went off the crossbar to
Jannik Loebe, who fired high on the rebound.
The Rams then got two saves late in the half from
Rashid Nuhu to keep the game scoreless entering halftime.
In the second half, it was NJIT's Marco Luna with a couple of early saves on shots from
Andres Penfold and
Ryan Cupolo to keep Fordham at bay.
Both goalkeepers would make one more save each, as each recorded the clean sheet. For Nuhu, it was his second consecutive shutout, making three saves, while it was the first shutout of the season for Luna with four saves.
