Live StatsTwitter Updates @FordhamVBBRONX, N.Y. -- The Fordham women's volleyball team returns to action Wednesday night when the Rams host St. Francis Brooklyn in the 2015 home opener inside the Rose Hill Gym at 7 p.m. Fans will be able to view the match for free online.
Last Time OutFordham started its 2015 season last weekend in Fort Myers, Fla. at the FGCU Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites Classic, where the Rams dropped all three of its matches in the two-day event. Fordham lost its season opener to Presbyterian in four sets (25-16, 23-25, 21-25, 27-29), lost a three-set match to Florida Gulf Coast (17-25, 16-25, 13-25), and suffered another four-set loss to New Orleans (25-27, 25-22, 19-25, 18-25).
Against Presbyterian, freshman
Breanna Jones, who was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, recorded a double-double in her first career match as a Ram. She paced the squad with a team-high 14 kills to go along with 15 digs and a hitting percentage of .343. Sophomore
Clarissa Cartledge provided a career-best 23 digs, while seniors
Brennan Delsing and
Brianna O'Neil added 11 and 10 digs, respectively. Senior
Abigail Konovodoff dished out 33 assists, tallied six kills and six digs and recorded a .294 attack percentage, and freshman
Olivia LaPorta chipped in a game-high eight blocks and six kills.
Jones would record double-digit kills for the second straight match after registering a team-best 12 against Florida Gulf Coast. Senior Konovodoff dished out a team-high 23 assists, while sophomore Cartledge led the way on defense with 12 digs.
In the final match of the weekend against New Orleans, freshman
Natalie Martinez posted 13 kills while adding a hitting percentage of .344. Sophomore
Emily Fronk played only three sets and yielded the best match of her career, after posting her first career double-double with career highs of 28 assists and 14 digs. O'Neil narrowly missed a double-double with 15 digs and nine kills, while Cartledge also produced 15 digs. Jones also just missed a double-double with nine kills and nine digs.

What You Need To Know: The Terriers, who are coming off a 2-28 campaign in 2014, dropped all three of their matches last weekend at the JMU Classic in Harrisonburg, Va., where they lost to James Madison (3-0), Lehigh (3-1) and Northern Arizona (3-0).
Up NextFordham returns to action Friday, Sept. 4 and Saturday, Sept. 5 when it hosts the annual Rose Hill Classic. The Rams are slated to play two matches Friday against Niagara (1 p.m.) and Georgetown (7 p.m.), before concluding play Saturday with a single match versus Robert Morris (1 p.m.).
