Lindsay Mayer increased the advantage to 4-0 in the bottom of the fourth when she laced a RBI double down the left field line that scored Van Hoven. After GW scored an unearned run in the top of the fifth, Ianiro singled home senior
Paige Ortiz in the bottom half, which produced the final score of 5-1.
Redshirt junior
Rachel Gillen (19-8) went the distance for the 15th time this season after allowing just the unearned run on three hits while walking three and fanning six. Van Hoven and Mayer each had two hits and a RBI for the Rams, who finished with 10, while Canessa added her fourth home run and two RBI.
The Colonials' Paige Kovalsky (8-4) lasted just 1.1 innings in the circle. She allowed three earned runs on one hit, walked five and struck out one.
Fordham returns to action Wednesday, April 29 when it welcomes St. John's to Bahoshy Field for the 2015 home finale, with first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
