It was déjà vu for the Fordham baseball team on Sunday, as a complete game pitching performance from Ben Greenberg and a solid effort by the Rams' defense turning three double plays led to a 6-2 win over the Davidson Wildcats at Houlihan Park.

The win gave Fordham the series win over the Wildcats, and improved the team's record to 12-20 overall, 4-5 in the league.  Davidson fell to 15-15 on the year, 5-7 in the Atlantic 10.

The Rams struck big early with a four-run second inning, all with two outs.  With a runner on second, Joseph DeVito blooped a single to center to score Ryan Mahoney from second for a 1-0 lead.  A passed ball and walks to Jason Lundy and Joseph Runco loaded the bases for Mark Donadio.  Donadio came through with a two-run single up the middle, making it a 3-0 game.  Runco then scored on a wild pitch to end the rally.

Fordham tacked on single runs in the fifth and seventh innings for a 6-0 lead, as both Matthew Kozuch and Charles Galiano picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice.

Fordham starting pitcher Ben Greenberg worked in and out of trouble throughout the game, as he induced 16 ground outs, which included three ground ball double plays.  Davidson only scored single runs in the eighth and ninth innings on solo home runs by Ty Middlebrooks and Lee Miller for the 6-2 final score.

Greenberg earned his team-leading third win of the season, throwing his first career complete game.  He allowed two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.

At the plate, Donadio recorded his second straight four-hit game, going 4-for-4 with two RBI and two stolen bases.  He now has eight hits in his last eight at bats.  DeVito was 1-for-4 with an RBI with Runco posting two runs scored and a stolen base.

The Fordham baseball team will next be in action on Tuesday, April 14th, as the Rams conclude their eight-game homestand against the Iona Gaels, beginning at 6:00 PM.
