Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham men's basketball seniors Mandell Thomas and Ryan Rhoomes have each appeared in over 90 games in their collegiate career but there was one thing they haven't yet accomplished: winning three games in a row.  That changed tonight thanks to a game-high 18 points from Rhoomes and 17 more from Thomas as the Rams defeated Colgate University, 84-58, in the Rose Hill Gym for their third straight victory.

With the win, Fordham improves to 3-1 while Colgate falls to 1-3.

Balance was the key to the win tonight as four Rams finished in double figures with Joseph Chartouny (15) and Christian Sengfelder (13) joining Rhoomes and Thomas with Chartouny adding ten rebounds for his first career double-double.

The Rams jumped out to a 16-6 lead over the first eight minutes, thanks to five points each from Jon Severe and Chartouny, but Colgate rallied later in the half,  cutting the Fordham advantage to two, 24-22, with 5:19 left in the half.

A Thomas three-pointer was the first of three straight trifectas for the Rams, the others coming from Antwoine Anderson and Chartouny, as Fordham built a 33-22 lead just over two minutes later and Fordham took an eleven point lead, 38-27, into the break.

The Rams led by ten early in the second half, 42-32, when the Fordham offense got hot, outscoring Colgate, 10-2, over a six minute stretch as Fordham took a 52-34 lead on an Anderson dunk with 14:09 left.

But the Raiders would whittle the Fordham lead to nine midway through the half, 56-47, before a Sengfelder three-pointer was the first three of eight straight Ram points as Fordham took a commanding 64-47 lead on a Nemanja Zarkovic three-pointer with 7:45 left.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, November 28, as they host the Manhattan College Jaspers in the annual Battle of the Bronx in the Rose Hill Gym at 5:00 p.m.
