SERIES HISTORY: This will be the eighth all-time meeting between the two Jesuit institutions with Saint Louis having won five of the previous seven meetings.  The last encounter though went in Fordham's favor at the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship, as the Rams posted a 2-1 win in the conference semifinals.  Fordham got goals from Ryan Cupolo and Jannik Loebe in that contest.

LOEBE & NUHU EARN A-10 WEKLY HONORS: The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly men's soccer award winners and a pair of Rams were among this week's honorees.  Sophomore forward Jannik Loebe was named A-10 Co-Player of the Week, while freshman goalkeeper Rashid Nuhu was selected as the league's Rookie of the Week.  It is Loebe's first career weekly award and the second of the season for Nuhu.

Loebe netted three goals in two conference road wins last week, helping Fordham to its first 3-0 start in league play since 2009. The sophomore started the week by capping the Rams' 3-0 win at Davidson with his second goal of the season. Then against Duquesne, he scored just 60 seconds after Duquesne had taken the lead, knotting the game at one. Loebe then scored the game-winning goal eight minutes later for a 2-1 victory.

Nuhu was in net for both conference wins for Fordham, improving his record to 5-4-2. The freshman earned his fourth shutout in the last five games at Davidson, making five saves. He also had four stops in a 2-1 win at Duquense. Nuhu lowered his GAA to 1.21 on the year, and his four shutouts are tied for best in the league.

LAST TIME OUT: Fordham's Jannik Loebe scored twice in the second half, as the Rams improved to 3-0 in Atlantic 10 play with a 2-1 win over the Duquesne Dukes at Rooney Field in Pittsburgh, Pa.

With the win, Fordham improved to 5-4-3 overall, 3-0 in the Atlantic 10, while Duquesne fell to 3-7-1 on the year, 1-2 in the league.  It marks the first time since 2009 that Fordham has won its first three Atlantic 10 games.

Jannik Loebe was the A-10 Co-Player of the Week, after netting three goals last week.

After a scoreless first half, Duquesne, who played with 10 men for most of the match, scored the opening goal of the game in the 57th minute.  Colin Phillips scored his seventh goal of the season from 18 yards out on a shot to the left side of goal with the assists going to Fredrik Borenstein and Chris Alescio.

Only 60 seconds later, Fordham tied the game at one.  Kyle Bitterman got the ball on the right side and crossed back toward the top of the box through three players.  Jannik Loebe then one-timed the shot to the right side of goal for his third goal of the season.

Loebe then struck again in the 65th minute to give Fordham a 2-1 lead.  Andrew Hickey sent a through ball toward the center of the offensive half of the field, hitting Loebe in stride. Loebe made one quick move around a Duquesne defender, and scored to the lower left corner of the net from 18 yards out.

The Fordham defense was able to hold off the Dukes over the final 25 minutes to preserve the 2-1 victory.  In goal, Rashid Nuhu made four saves for Fordham, while Evan Kozlowski had one save for Duquesne.

WHO'S NEXT: The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Wednesday, October 21st, when the Rams travel to Rhode Island for a 7:00 PM match in a re-match of last year's Atlantic 10 Championship game.
