Looking to bounce back from a rough outing on Thursday, the Fordham water polo hit the road for the first of two matches this weekend, as the Rams played at MIT on Saturday. Fordham put forth a strong defensive effort and never trailed in the game, as the Rams topped MIT, 7-6.
With the win, Fordham improved to 8-4 on the season, 2-2 in the CWPA Northern Division.
After taking a 1-0 lead after the first quarter, the Rams exploded for four tallies in the second quarter, making it a 5-1 game at the half.
MIT tried to rally back, but the Rams never trailed in the game, scoring once in the third and fourth quarters to secure the 7-6 win.
Fordham was led by
Eric Minowitz, who finished with the game-winning goal in the fourth quarter and added a career-high seven steals in the match.
Ori Raz added a pair of goals with
Bobby Wurtz,
R.J. Simmons,
Mike Hay, and
Peter Bergum each netting one marker. In net,
Noah LeBeau made six saves in the game to go with an assist and a steal.
The Rams will be right back in action on Sunday, September 28
th, as the team plays at Harvard, beginning at 10:00 AM.
