Rams Down Brookwood, Finish Tour 4-0

When teams are afforded the opportunity to take a foreign tour once every four years, coaching staffs are usually looking to accomplish two goals: build team chemistry and pick up wins against tough international competition.  The Rams achieved both of these goals in spades in Quebec this week, closing out their trip with a 91-68 victory over Brookwood Elite on Friday night.
 
The Rams closed out the tour with a perfect 4-0 mark.
 
Highly touted freshman Eric Paschall demonstrated why he was such a sought-after recruit in the win, netting 36 points. 
 
Several other players had standout performances for the Rams on Friday, including Ryan Rhoomes (16 points), Christian Sengfelder (15 points, nine rebounds) and Bryan Smith (11 points).
 
Joseph Chartouny paced Brookwood, registering 29 points
 
Paschall, the reigning NEPSAC AAA Player of the Year, had yet to hit double figures in scoring on the Canadian Tour despite three solid performances.  On Friday, it took the Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., less than nine minutes to do so.  He scored Fordham's first eight points of the contest, helping the Rams jump out to a 22-16 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter.  Paschall scored ten of those 22 points in the opening stanza.
 
The St. Thomas More product continued his hot hand in the opening minutes of the second quarter, scoring Fordham's first four points, highlighted by an acrobatic 360 finish on a pass from Antwoine Anderson. 
 
With just under two minutes remaining in the first half, a Rhoomes layup put the Rams up by 19, their largest lead of the half.  Brookwood, however, ended the quarter on a 7-0, drawing within 12 of the Rams by the half's conclusion.
 
The Rams blew the game open coming out of the locker room, outscoring Brookwood 7-2 to start the quarter.  Paschall netted five of Fordham's points during that stretch.  Over the next few minutes, Sengfelder, Rhoomes and Smith captained a 14-2 Fordham run, putting the Rams ahead by as many as 26 with just over three minutes remaining in the third period.
 
Brookwood would narrow the deficit to as little as 20 by the end of the third quarter, but the Rams soon regained their scoring touch at the start of the final stanza.  After Brookwood trimmed the lead to just 15, the Rams uncorked a 15-0 scoring run, building their advantage to 30 with just over five minutes remaining in the game.
 
When the final buzzer sounded, Fordham led 91-68.
