MONTREAL- The old cliché says there's no place like home, and for Nemanja Zarkovic, it proved true on Monday evening.  The freshman and Montreal product scored a game-high 16 points, connecting on 60 percent of his shots and leading the Rams to a 70-48 victory over Concordia.

"I thought we had our moments," said Fordham Head Coach Tom Pecora after the game.  "We looked good at times.  First time we brought everybody together, so obviously pleased with the outcome."

In addition to Zarkovic's 16, Jon Severe added ten points, while Eric Paschall and Ryan Rhoomes each chipped in eight.

Rhoomes topped the Rams with 12 boards on the night, while Chris Sengfelder grabbed ten rebounds in addition to recording seven points.

The Rams, who exerted relentless pressure on the defensive end, forced 20 Concordia turnovers on the night.

Concordia came out tough on their home court at the beginning of the contest, jumping out to an 8-3 lead on the Rams near the midway mark of the first quarter.  The lead would not last; however, as the Rams started getting shots to fall on the previously unfriendly rims.

Aided by a tenacious press, the Rams uncorked a 19-5 run over the next nine and a half minutes to pull ahead 22-13, forcing several turnovers that led to easy buckets.  The run was capped by Paschall's first field goal in a Fordham uniform, a three-pointer from the left wing.

The Rams dominated the second quarter, outscoring the Stingers by a 21-10 margin, allowing the visitors from the Bronx to enter the intermission with a 34-20 advantage.

Coach Pecora's squad bumped its lead to as many as 24 in the opening minutes of the second half, led by eight points from Zarkovic and four from Severe.

The Rams would extend the advantage to 25 in the final minutes before closing out the contest, 70-48.

Fordham returns to action on Tuesday evening, facing off against Laval University in Quebec City at 7:00 PM.
