Kingston, R.I. (March 5, 2014) - The Fordham University men's basketball squad continues their 2014 Atlantic 10 season as they travel to Kingston, R.I., to face the University of Rhode Island Rams in the Ryan Center on Wednesday night, March 5, at 7:00 p.m.

The game will be televised live on SportsNet NY (SNY) with Eric Frede (p-b-p) and Abu Bakr (color) announcing and will be broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and www.wfuv.org and can be followed live via livestats. Follow the links above.

Fordham enters the game with a 9-18 overall record, 2-12 in the Atlantic 10, after a 64-62 conference loss to La Salle in the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday afternoon. Rhode Island enters the game with a 13-17 overall record, 4-11 in the Atlantic 10, after a 66-43 conference win over Richmond in Kingston on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams will be led into the game by the top scoring backcourt in the Atlantic 10, senior guard Branden Frazier, a preseason Third Team All-Atlantic 10 pick, and freshman guard Jon Severe, a product of Christ the King High School. Severe, a four-time Atlantic 10 rookie of the week, is averaging an Atlantic 10-best 18.3 ppg while Frazier is right behind him, averaging 17.4 ppg, third in the conference, and 23.3 ppg over the past three.

Frazier has 1,548 career points, ninth on the Fordham all-time, and he has 476 career assists, second all-time at Fordham, while Severe has accumulated 495 points so far in his rookie campaign, nine shy of Chris Gaston freshman scoring record of 504 points.

Wednesday night's contest will be the 60th meeting between Fordham and Rhode Island on the hardwood with Rhode Island leading the all-time series, which started in the 1941-42 season, 34-25. Fordham has taken the past two matchups, including an 85-79 win earlier this year in the Rose Hill Gym (February 1) as Branden Frazier scored 27 points and added seven rebounds and Mandell Thomas added 18 points and seven rebounds.
