Bronx, N.Y. (February 27, 2014) - The Fordham University men's basketball squad continues the 2014 Atlantic 10 season as they host the VCU Rams in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Thursday night, February 27, at 7:00 p.m. in a game that will be televised live on the CBS Sports Network with Brad Johansen (p-b-p), Steve Wolfe (color) and Jonathan Rothstein (sideline) announcing and will be broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and www.wfuv.org.

Fordham enters the game with a 9-16 overall record, 2-10 in the Atlantic 10, after a conference loss at Saint Joseph's University on Saturday afternoon. VCU, who will make its first ever appearance in the Rose Hill Gym, enters the game with a 20-7 overall record, 8-4 in the Atlantic 10, after an 80-75 conference loss at Massachusetts last Friday night.

The Rams will be led into the game by the top scoring backcourt in the Atlantic 10, senior guard
Branden Frazier, a preseason Third Team All-Atlantic 10 pick, and freshman guard
Jon Severe, a product of Christ the King High School. Severe, a four-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week who tied the Fordham freshman scoring record with 35 points at Duquesne, is averaging an Atlantic 10-best 18.8 ppg, while Frazier is right behind him, averaging 17.5 ppg, fourth best in the conference, and he has two double-doubles year.

Over his three-year career, Frazier has netted 1,515 points, good for tenth on the Fordham all-time scoring list.

Thursday night's contest will be the third ever meeting between Fordham and Virginia Commonwealth on the hardwood and VCU's first ever appearance in the Rose Hill Gym. VCU took the first two meetings, 81-65, in Richmond last February 2 as Troy Daniels scored 29 points and Treveon Graham added 15, and 76-60 earlier this year on January 29 in Richmond as Juvonte Reddic had ten points and ten rebounds for VCU while
Mandell Thomas scored a game-high 25 points for Fordham.
